When I Think of Child Development …

When I think of Early Childhood I think of what I used to do as a small child. As a young child I played hopscotch, jack rocks, jump rope and playing kick ball. I enjoyed playing with all my sisters and brothers. I played in the neighborhood park with friends and family.

Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity. ~Kay Redfield Jamison

  1. Hi Arthurine, I like your pictures and your quotes. I never really understood the importance of play until I took this course. I played many of the same games you did, and it was so much fun, I didn't realize that we were learning at the same time! I think kids today really miss out on this.

Thank you for your informative discussion points and the comments that you made. I know it must be really hard for you right now having recently lost your mom. I lost my mom 4 years ago, and that is truly the hardest thing that I have ever had to go through. I remember thinking that I would never be happy again! Luckily, the happiness & joy does come back but it takes awhile. I applaud you for sticking it out with the course. I know it could not have been easy. I prayed that God would comfort you in your time of loss. I wish you all the best as you continue with your studies and I hope that our paths will cross again! Delores
